Shimano's new OCEA LEADER EX FLUORO offers a number of benefits for the most demanding anglers dealing with fishing where they often find themselves in difficult conditions.
It is thinner than traditional fluorocarbon but equivalent for breaking load, highly resistant to abrasion, it does not absorb water so it sinks quickly, of a light color it has its refractive index quite close to that of water, it is therefore less visible for fish.
The structure of the Ocea leader is also very different in that it features a soft fluorine core to ensure knot strength, a hard outer shell for abrasion resistance, and a fluorine coating on this to provide a smooth surface.
