Note:
Cotter pins are used as a fastening element in machine and vehicle construction, especially for fastening crown nuts. Fixing takes place by inserting the split pin into the hole, subsequently bending the ends.
The split pins can be shortened. The length of the split pin should be approximately twice the length of the hole.
Since the structure of the material changes during fastening and unlocking, it is not possible to reuse the split pins once they have been disassembled.
