If your bird is not used to granule feeding, the transition to this new feed should be done gradually.

How to use:
1. Preparatory Phase: For smaller bird species (such as wavy parakeets), it is recommended that they be gradually prepared for change. The goal is not to force the birds to eat pellets during this preparation phase. They are only taught to recognize pellets as part of their diet. They will be given, for 2 or 3 weeks, the normal mixture of seeds to which 10% of granules is added. In large parakeets and parrots, this preparatory stage is not necessary.

2. The real change: During the change period, the seeds and pellets will no longer be mixed. Birds only receive granules during this period. On some days, still serve a bowl containing the seeds they will eat at will. But the periods during which the birds receive only granules grow longer, which forces them to consume more granules. Seed days are introduced into their regimen to prevent birds from losing too much weight. Birds will be able to regain energy during these days that they would eventually lose by eating less during the "granule days".
