Sera NO2 TEST FOR NITRITE MEASUREMENT
Sera offers a wide range of tests with which it is possible to measure and monitor the water values. It is essential that the water values are always within the norm, this for a healthy and correct functionality of the aquarium and its inhabitants. One of these values are Nitrates. Nitrates are nitrogen compounds and indicate a strong organic pollution. That is, all waste and waste from the aquarium (such as food scraps, dead animals and plants and fish manure) are transformed into ammonium (or ammonia) thanks to microorganisms in the water. The bacteria present in the biological filter transform ammonium first into Nitrites and then into NITRATES. Nitrites are one of the most toxic substances for fish, the main cause being insufficient biological filtration . If the Nitrite values are slightly high, it is possible to use products that will help stabilize the values, such as bio-nitrivec (for freshwater aquariums), or Reefclear (for marine aquariums) or pond bio nitrivec ( for ponds). In case of very high values it is recommended to use sera toxivet (for freshwater aquariums).
Instructions for Use:
Shake the reagents well before using them!
1. Rinse the tube several times with the water to be tested and then fill it to the 5 mL mark. Then dry the tube externally.
2. Add 5 drops of reagent 1 and 2 respectively.
3. Close the tube with its lid and shake it. Remove the lid.
4. Compare the colors after 3-5 minutes by placing the tube on the chromatic scale and looking at it from above in daylight but not in the presence of sunlight .
5. Cleaning: Before and after each test it is necessary to clean the tube thoroughly with tap water.
The reagent must be stored in a dark and cool place.
After use, it is important to close the vials carefully, taking care not to interchange the caps.
