Serinus canaria domestica, often simply known as the canary, is a domesticated form of the Serinus canaria that lives free in nature in the biogeographical region of Macaronesia (Azores, Madeira and Canary Islands). Domestic canaries are divided, effectively creating subspecies in form and position canaries, singing canaries and color canaries.
A differentiation of the 'color' category is between the so-called lipochromics, whose plumage is light in background, and melaninic, which instead have a dark background color. By background color we mean the color of the feather near the root, which can differ significantly from that shown in the extreme part, on the surface. If for the latter the coloring is linked to the levels of melanin, for the former, where there is total absence of this, the coloring as well as the genotypic combination will be conditioned by the fat-soluble pigments made with the diet.
Each color canary is further distinguished by Type, Variety, and Category.
Canary T3 is a four-seed food (Canadian Scagliola, Niger, Canapuccia and Lino) with a low content in fat-soluble pigments.

Instructions for correct use
The daily administration of the food must correspond to the average quantity consumed in 24 hours, taking care to clean and wash the manger before each administration. This hygienic-sanitary practice must also be extended to the drinker, ensuring fresh and clean water always available.

Color note
There are three categories according to the feather
Intense: short feather and uniform coloring throughout the body;
Brinato: medium feather and partial coloring, with a 'sprinkling' effect of frost on the coat;
Mosaic: medium feather, with more intense coloring on the face mask, rump, chest and shoulder straps.
