The tremaglio or trammel net is a gill net made up of three layers of meshes,

the external walls or patches with large meshes and the internal map with very tight meshes,

the latter has a larger surface than the other two, so that it is less taut than the pieces.

The gillnet is a professional fishing gear that is mainly used near rocky bottoms or near mouths,

for catching mullet or crustaceans such as shrimp.

Usually the tremaglio is lowered into the sea at the end of the day and set sail in the morning.

Some fish species, however, require diurnal or strictly nocturnal hauls.
