FIBER SPARVIERO FISHING NET

The sparrow hawk net is a fishing net that was already used in ancient times for fishing on sandy bottoms that are not particularly deep. With the launch of this net it is possible to catch mullets, garfish, anchovies and sardines.

While fishing, the fisherman throws the hawk net on the surface of the water. The net, being equipped with weights distributed along the end, sinks evenly. In this way a sort of bell is formed. Instinctively, the fish will try to escape to the surface of the water and become trapped. The fisherman, thanks to the rope typically fixed in the center, once the net has reached the bottom, he can pull it towards him with the end fixed to the wrist.
