WeatherTec 3000/4000 - waterproof system
The waterproofness of a tent is measured by the so-called water column. If a tent has a water column of 3000/4000 mm*, it can contain a water column of 3/4 metres* on its surface before the water penetrates.

The UK Ministry of Defense classifies a water column of 800mm as waterproof.

Coleman uses polyethylene (PE) patio covers, which are relatively heavy but offer guaranteed protection from water. PE tents are ideal for family tents and activity tents, where lightness and small pack size are not essential.
