1 KG PARAFFINED GELCOAT + CATALYST

Paraffinized GELCOAT formulated based on orthophthalic resins which give good resistance to atmospheric agents and light. It is the ideal product for general uses, in the case of artifacts not subjected to critical operating conditions: minor boating, bodywork, casings, tanks for agriculture. If processed following a particular procedure it can be classified as "food". Polyester resin was the first cold-printable plastic material, without pressure which, combined with a reinforcement, greatly improved the mechanical characteristics. GELCOAT is the "skin", therefore the visible part of the product and as such performs two precise functions: to protect from atmospheric agents and UV rays (and in some cases from chemicals) and to give the reinforced plastic a continuous surface finish, smooth and colored.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE PRODUCT

The product is already accelerated, it is catalyzed with methyl-ethyl-ketone-peroxide (MEKP) in a percentage from 1.5% to 2%, while the thickness must be between 0.4 and 0.9 mm (700/900 gr / m2). The pot life of the catalysed product varies from 4 to 12 minutes (at 25 ° C). GELCOAT is stable in the original packaging, unopened and not exposed to heat sources, for max. 4-6 months. For brush applications it is recommended to use flat tools with soft bristles and always check before use the perfect evaporation of solvents from the bristles. The product is supplied already paraffinized.
