Parakeet is the English diction of the Italian parakeet; highly heterogeneous group of medium and small size parrots (even the parakeet enters this macro group of birds). Bourke's Parakeet (Neopsephotus bourkii) is a bird belonging to the Psittacid family. The old scientific name classified it in the Neophema genus, so it is easy to find it under this denomination. It should be noted that a discussion on the name is still ongoing and there are conflicting opinions.
