The Java squirrel (Callosciurus Notatus) is an extremely adaptable squirrel, in fact it is found
in a wide range of habitats, including forests, coasts, plantations, parks and semi-urban areas.
The species ranges from Thailand and peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra, Java (from which it takes one of its names) and Borneo.
In Singapore it is common and has adapted well to urbanization.
It has diurnal habits and is not endangered.
