Self-polishing antifouling based on special resins, cuprous oxide and anti-silt agents.
ANTIFOULING MARLIN TF 0.750 SELF-POLISHING
Self-polishing antifouling based on special resins, cuprous oxide and anti-silt agents, in the colors: oxide red, black and sky blue. In white and sky blue, it is copper-free and is therefore also suitable for light alloy hulls. It has the property of being dissolved by the water in a uniform manner and at a controlled speed; the exhausted part is continuously removed from the surface due to the motion, so that in contact with the water there is always a fresh layer, endowed with maximum activity. In this way the useful life of MARLIN TF is directly proportional to the thickness of the applied film. By applying an appropriate thickness the hull can stay clean for up to 24 months. MARLIN TF maintains its effectiveness even on boats that are stationed for a long time in ports. MARLIN TF also has the advantage of keeping the friction between the water and the hull within the minimum values; on the contrary, over time, this friction decreases, as the product "self-smoothes", being eroded more rapidly on the raised areas than in the depressions of the surface. The solubility in water is very well balanced, therefore it is also suitable for fast boats (up to 25 knots). Any cleaning of the hull with brushes, abrasive felts, sponges to remove any silt that may have formed after a long stop of the boat, shortens the duration of the protection, as each of these operations removes a lot of thickness.
On fiberglass it must be applied after degreasing with solvent, sanding and application of a coat of FIBERGLASS PRIMER. On wood and iron it should be applied after a suitable cycle based on epoxy products. On hulls already treated with MARLIN TF, the porous surface layer must be eliminated with an energetic pressure washing or better by sanding. The same procedure must also be carried out in the case of other antifoulings, with most of which MARLIN TF is compatible. In the case of a very porous or badly reduced surface, it is advisable to apply, before MARLIN TF, a coat of UNIVERSAL PRIMER diluted with about 20% of DILUENTE N ° 2. MARLIN TF can be applied by brush, roller or spray; the minimum interval between coats is 8 hours (at 20 ° C); for the launch it is necessary to wait until the product is perfectly dry even in depth, the time required is 24 hours for thicknesses of 100-120 microns (2-3 coats) on temperate and not too humid days; for higher thicknesses or in case of colder temperatures, it is necessary to wait longer periods. The product can be exposed to the air for up to six months after application. MARLIN TF is suitable for wooden, iron and plastic boats.
