PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT AND APPLICATION CYCLE:
New or restored wood
- To obtain a closed, well-smoothed pore surface, apply two coats of POLIGLASS paint diluted 50-100% (according to the absorption of the wood) with DILUENTE 203. If the pore is very open, apply a third, less diluted coat if necessary . After 12-16 hours, sand with fine abrasive paper and apply 2-3 coats of ACRIGLASS UV spaced 24 hours apart.
- If you want to obtain an open pore surface, apply only one coat of POLIGLASS paint diluted 50-100% (according to the absorption of the wood) with DILUENTE 203. After 12-16 hours of drying, sand with fine abrasive paper and apply 2-3 coats of ACRIGLASS UV spaced 24 hours apart.
Already painted wood
Sand thoroughly and dust the old paint. If the old painting was carried out with 2-component polyurethane paints, it is sufficient to apply 2-3 coats of ACRIGLASS UV spaced 24 hours apart. If the old varnish is of unknown origin, before proceeding with the application of ACRIGLASS UV varnish, it is advisable to carry out a compatibility test on a small part of the surface to check adhesion and softening. If there are no problems, proceed with two coats of ACRIGLASS UV varnish. If not (softening, opacification etc. of the old varnish) it is advisable to remove all the old varnish by means of paint strippers, sanding or scraping and then proceed as indicated in the cycle for new wood.
NOTE: _The recommended coats of the products are only indicative; the number of these depends substantially on the absorption of the wood. However, we recommend on new wood, a total minimum between POLIGLASS and ACRIGLASS UV of at least 10 coats. While for the restoration of old varnishes brought to wood, a minimum of at least 6-8 coats. Contact our technical office for particularly important works.
